Today, the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre (TPI Centre) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is launching a consultation to gather user feedback on proposed methodological changes to its Management Quality (MQ) framework. The MQ framework evaluates the quality of corporate governance and strategy in managing greenhouse gas emissions and responding to the risks and opportunities of the low-carbon transition.
The TPI Centre at LSE is an independent source of rigorous research and assessments that are based on publicly available information disclosed by assessed entities. It is the academic partner of the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI), an asset owner-led initiative supported by asset managers. MQ assessments are conducted by LSEG[1] using the TPI Centre’s methodology.
Our methodologies are transparent and accessible via the TPI Centre website. They are reviewed and updated periodically to ensure they remain relevant as investor, policy and investee entity practices evolve. We run public consultations on proposed changes to gather stakeholder input when updates are material. The last update to the MQ framework occurred in November 2023 with the release of version 5.0.
