How to send feedback

Feedback from all stakeholders on our methodologies

The TPI Global Climate Transition Centre (TPI Centre)’s assessment frameworks are transparent and accessible. To ensure that they remain relevant, they may be reviewed and updated periodically. The Centre operates independently, but we undertake consultations to share proposed approaches and gather views on potential amendments, when material. In keeping with best practice on transparency, we publish our framework methodologies and transparently communicate methodological changes in subsequent methodology notes.

Public consultations may be held before we make major updates to our methodologies. Our process for holding such consultations involve publishing a consultation report to describe the proposed changes and launching a public survey to collect feedback. Where possible, further outreach and engagement (e.g. bilateral meetings, roundtables, webinars) are also organised to gather more input from market participants. See for example our consultations launched in December 2025 on the ASCOR tool and the banking tool.

Feedback from entities on their assessments

The TPI Centre assesses three types of entities: real-economy corporates, commercial banks and sovereigns. Our research team carries out assessments from beginning to end (with the exception of the Management Quality assessments which are led by our data partner FTSE Russell). Allowing entities the opportunity to review and, if necessary, correct their assessments is an integral part of the TPI Centre’s quality assurance process.

Our process is as follows:

  1. Initial data collection and review: An analyst collects data from entity disclosures and conducts a detailed analysis to confirm that the data are accurate and to evaluate the entity’s climate performance.
  2. Initial findings review: Following the application of TPI Centre’s relevant methodologies to the data, a different analyst reviews each assessment in detail, and the team looks at overall trends across entities with a view to identifying outliers and unusual patterns.
  3. Entity review: Once we have completed the assessments, we write to each entity with its draft assessment by the TPI Centre, requesting that the entity reviews its assessment and confirms the accuracy of the underlying data.
  4. Final assessment: We review entity responses and amend their assessments if their feedback is judged to have merit.

If during the feedback process, an entity seeks to challenge its assessment, our process is as follows:

  • The TPI Centre reviews the information provided by the entity. At this point, additional information may be requested.
  • If it is concluded that the challenge has merit, the assessment is updated.
  • If it is concluded that there are insufficient grounds to change the assessment, the TPI Centre publishes its original assessment.
  • If the entity requests an explanation regarding its feedback after the publication of its assessment, the TPI Centre’s research team explains the decisions taken.
  • If an entity requests an update of its assessment based on data publicly disclosed after the research cut-off date, the TPI Centre can note the new disclosure on the entity’s profile on the TPI Centre’s website.
  • If an entity chooses to further contest the assessment and reverts to legal means to do so, the assessment is withheld from the TPI Centre’s website, and the entity is identified as having challenged its assessment.
