Industrials and materials sector assessment results 2021

This 2021 update evaluates how companies in emissions‑intensive industrial and materials sectors are preparing for the transition to a low‑carbon economy. Covering 169 companies, assessing both corporate climate governance (Management Quality) and alignment of emissions trajectories with climate‑related benchmarks (Carbon Performance). The findings show incremental improvements in Management Quality, but limited alignment with Paris‑consistent pathways, underlining the scale of the decarbonisation challenge in hard‑to‑abate industries and the importance of continued investor engagement.
