ASCOR framework methodology note - version 2.0

In December 2025, the TPI Centre published a second Consultation Report (Hizliok et al., 2025) and launched a public consultation on potential changes to the ASCOR framework. The public consultation process involved an online survey, two dedicated sessions with the ASCOR Investor Advisory Committee, two roundtables with a broader group of investors, and two roundtables with sovereign issuers. Feedback was received from various stakeholder groups, including asset owners, asset managers, investor networks, sovereign issuers, academia and civil society.

This document, ASCOR framework methodology note - version 2.0, reflects the updates resulting from the feedback gathered through the consultation as well as additional research conducted at the TPI Centre. The framework presented in this methodology note is a major update and is hence labelled Version 2.0.

In line with the data requirements of the tool’s investor users, the new framework should enable comparability with data from previous years. To facilitate this, Appendix 3 presents a mapping of ASCOR framework Version 2.0 against the previous version, enabling users to track performance across assessment cycles.
