Detailed metric-by-metric description of how the TPI Centre assesses company disclosures against the framework

This assessment framework sets out a sector‑specific framework to help investors assess whether oil and gas companies’ transition plans and disclosures are aligned with a 1.5°C, net‑zero pathway. Developed by the TPI Centre in collaboration with investor partners, the framework evaluates both the credibility of company disclosures and the alignment of transition strategies, including production plans, methane management and diversification into low‑carbon activities with climate‑aligned benchmarks. It provides a robust, decision‑useful tool to support investor assessment, stewardship and engagement in the oil and gas sector.
