COP30 side event - Tracking corporate and national climate action for investors

Held at the Finnish Pavilion at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, this event focused on equipping investors with the tools to evaluate the credibility of corporate and national climate transition plans.

The event began with a presentation of the TPI Centre's climate assessment tools to evaluate the performance and 1.5°C alignment of companies and countries. The presentation included an overview of the key findings of our latest flagship reports: State of the Corporate Transition 2025 and State of the Sovereign Transition 2025.

A panel discussed the findings of these two reports and how transition planning, including at the sectoral level, can be coordinated across stakeholders. The public and private sectors must take coordinated action to reduce emissions to net zero, and greater focus on the intersection and synergies between corporate and national transition planning will be key.

This event was designed to inform attendees about how governments and companies are planning to implement their climate goals, drawing on the TPI Centre’s data, while exploring the ways in which these complementary analyses can inform each other.
